ShoreTalk's Featured Guest: Barbara J. Maynard & Ted Levy, authors of Old Saybrook: Postcard History

DESCRIPTION: The authors capture Old Saybrook history over more than a century through a series of postcards.  Two hundred postcards, chosen from their personal collections, take us through the changes and history of Old Saybrook.  The book is available at many bookstores throughout the shoreline.  

Barbara J. Maynard served as Old Saybrook first selectman for 16 years.  She helped create a three-dimensional tile wall in the local library depicting 400 years of Old Saybrook history, has contributed to numerous works promoting local history, and is an incurable lifetime collectors of postcards, ephemera and local artifacts.

Tedd Levy is a former teacher and past president of the National Council for the Social Studies.  He is the author of history publications, curriculum materials, and numerous articles on teaching history, education,, and postcards.  He is also cofounder of Connecticut History Day and is an overseer at Old SturbridgeVillage.
