Annaliese and Kathleen discuss the challenges of invasive species living along our Connecticut shoreline communities.

Annaliese Spaziano, BS, MS, Environmental Educator has been awarded Teacher of the Year (The Academy) and Environmental Citizen of the Year in Milford for her innovative and outstanding work educating children and the community about invasive species.  The program is designed to bring together students, the schools and the community to work together for a common goal of preserving precious wilderness and open space along the Connecticut Shoreline.

Ornamental flowers and shrubs can quickly turn into insidious problems that threaten native species of all types.  For more information visit the Connecticut Invasive Plant Working Group (CIPWG), Invasive Plant Atlas of New England (IPANE), Invasipedia, Weeds Gone Wild: Plant Conservation Alliance, Invasive and Exotic Species of North America and New England Wildflower Society (NEWFS)
